Jill, keeping it plugged in all the time will kill the battery for good, if it hasn't already....
unless it is a rare breed my various ITS guys have never heard of. Once a laptop
battery won't hold a charge any more, then by all means keep it plugged in all the
time.

In your case, if you cannot imagine ever needing to run it off the battery (like if the
power goes out in a storm or something), then keeping it plugged in all the time is
no problem. We all do what we like and don't need to answer to anyone. My statement
about battery life is for anyone who didn't know that about battery life, and is not
a criticism of you. ;-))
