My in-laws had 5 sons, so when they learned about this recipe,
they jumped on it. It is prepared the day before and
cooks in the oven while the "boys" are tearing into their presents:

Although we substitute Velveeta for the cheddar, don't use
the Worcestershire sauce, and sprinkle in a little cayenne.

I admit I didn't think much of it when I first started
celebrating Christmas with my in-laws, but over 30 years
it has grown on me. We make a half recipe for the two of
us, and that usually lasts two breakfasts.

We serve it with fruit salad (any fruit that looks good
this time of year, possibly including frozen raspberries,
cut up, mixed together, and rested overnight).

Because the breakfast casserole is so rich, we're thinking
about grilled (barbecued) shrimp or fish for dinner on
Christmas night. It's supposed to be 36 F on Christmas,
which is well within my comfort zone for cooking outdoors.
