Usenet posters can and have been kicked off by their isp and or news
server, for violating their terms of service and "acceptable use
policy". On usenet.

I've also known at least two usenet posters who faced disciplinary
procedures from their employer, after using the employers news server
for access to usenet, where they trolled abused and harassed other
posters.
