I'm sure she did. Just be sure to uncheck "notifications" for all of
your groups. If you want a quiet news feed, you can also unfollow
anyone/everyone without unfriending them. That way their posts stay
out of your news feed - but you can catch up any time by going to
their wall/page (whatever it's called now) and reading it there.
