I've tried making it without a specialized rice cooker. I failed
every time! That's jes me. Do as you please.

This is one dish that benefits from a special cooker. Mine was cheap
($39) and made a perfect tahdig, every time. I regret tossing it,
thinking I could replace it, easily. (not!) 8|
