I guess some Yanks are disinterested in foreign (ex - US) doings, Ms. O. This is something of an old trait, that sort of "isolationist" thinking led to bad things like WW II. It's also "autarky", meaning that a country desires being self - sufficient, not much interaction with the outside world. Very dangerous, during the 30's all of the major powers acted like that, not a very nice result.

I am very interested in UK doings, first thing in the morning I turn to Page Three of the Sun...
