Heard this ad on television this afternoon. The Vidalia Onion Festival
takes place Vidalia, Georgia starting on on April 27th. It's mostly an
excuse to attract tourists.

The culinary info might be entertaining, but I'm not driving to Vidalia
to find out.

I'll agree, Vidalia onions are nicely sweet. But you can buy them
(check the sticker) in many stores. They ship them all over. It's just
right now, the harvest is coming in.

There are also other nice yellow sweet onions that are just as tasty.
No idea why they don't warrant a festival.
