My 1969 Kenwood Chefette hand mixer died earlier this year. Heart
attack; it just dropped dead, no time to say goodbye. It was my first
ever kitchen toy. (sob>

The "liquidiser" attachment broke decades ago but the variable speed
motor and beaters lasted 48 years. I need it for meringue so I hotfooted
off to buy another.

To my amazement Kenwood still make an almost identical handmixer and
the price hasn't changed. Though in 1969, £20 was a week's pay :-)
