We drove over 400 miles one way and made a weekend of it. The eclipse
itself was a total washout behind clouds and rain, but we did get a couple
neat glimpses before and after, and the "surrealness" of the total darkness
was an experience. Beyond the eclipse, we had a great time visiting museum
exhibits and taking in local sites and fare for a couple of days. Creating
family memories is never a waste of money. I'm glad we had the opportunity
and means to go.
