We were the very first area called for voluntary evacuation several days
before it was close, which then became mandatory. I think a lot of people
in the state evacuated before they were "asked" to, or used it as an
opportunity to get out of town, which clogged the highways. We don't have
a generator there because it isn't our full time home. I'm definitely
putting one on the shopping list, however, just in case storms like this
happen when we or family are staying there.
