I am still running my sociological experiment with shopping carts. It is
a bit of a carry over from the days when shopping carts tended to have
problems with sticky wheels that kept trying to steer you off into
another direction. If I had a good cart I would return it to the cart
corral but leave it out instead of shoving it right in to its nesting
position. For some reason, people won't take those. Perhaps they assume
that someone tried it and had a problem. They would rather wrestle tp
get one out of the nested line than take a chance with the one I left
for them.
