Those are funny looking spoons. I'm guessing that you can fill them up and lay them on the table without spilling. It seems useful but maybe it isn't. The great part about this dish is that I could probably make it anywhere in the world. A Chinese person might not like this dish because there's no oyster sauce or 5 spice.
