I find clams and mussles taste somewhat different but it's mostly the
texture that's different. I find neither inferior to the other... in
fact I prefer mussels marinara to clams marinara. I like clams raw on
the half shell but not mussels, the texture is too different. If you
try tins of smoked baby clams and mussels you'd be hard pressed to
tell one from the other.
