Apparently the effects vary by the percentage of chocolate in
whatever it is.

Parents of a friend of mine had a beloved little poodle they loved
giving chocolate kisses. This was before I knew her (or them) or I
would have said something. One day it ate a while bowl of them
while they were out and died. Even though they were devastated,
they comforted themselves that at least the dog died happy.
