That may well be. I should imagine when we lived on the Massachusetts
Military Reservation there were few government service jobs that paid well.
There were actually few jobs at all as most of the military people who lived
there worked elsewhere. We had a post office, stores, movie theater and the
golf course. Many of these places hired only part time and the pay was less
than minimum wage.
