That's why the food processor should have been mentioned in the list!
AFAIC, the only application a food processor has when it comes to
potatoes is either quickly and uniformly slicing (as for scalloped or au
gratin potatoes) or pureeing in liquid (for soup). Might as well try
making mashed potatoes in a blender and see how well that works. LOL
