I last ate some on a fishing trip around 1980 or so.
They are tasty when you are very hungry.
I do still buy the occasional can of "potted meat."
That's ok on a sandwich but I use it like a condiment
not for the meat. Well, I guess I do use it for the
meat but spread thin like a condiment.

A soft roll, both sides with mayo, a thin layer
of potted meat, slice of tomato and slice of
swiss cheese. Not too bad for a nice unhealthy
snack.
