I have a KItchenAid K5a that I bought in the late 1960s. It has had
regular heavy use all those years, and I have a few attachmnets for
it.

There was a period of tiee when some of the gear assembly was made of
plastic parts and there were numerous failures. However, KA
abandoned that and everything is metal now.

I had a new Kenwood Chef in the early 60s and totally wore it out. I bought
a new one around 25 years ago and it is still going well. It is a real
workhorse

It was some of those beaters etc that get messy if they get put into the
dishwasher by accident. Touching them make everything black, but I learned
that scrubbing them in hot soapy water gets rid of all that and they are
good as new

It is still going well and it gets used a lot. The attachments are a bit
shaky but the main stuff is great. It gets used a lot)
