I have an 12 inch tall artificial tree, permanently decorated,
that I use some years; this year being one of them. Other years,
I buy a live, potted tree, 15 to 18 inches tall; after Christmas,
I plant it, when weather permits. I have done the live tree 4 of
the past 5 years; one died, the remaining vary from surviving to
thriving. This was a revival of a tradition from when my
children were quite young. I have several 30-40 foot evergreens
in my yard that are former Christmas trees that I, with my
children's "help", planted many years ago.
