My wife insists on a real tree. I finally learned to get out early to
buy one at the local fruit stand. He always carries a range of sizes and
if I put it off too long there were only big ones. They cost a lot more,
take up too much space and I end up having to lop some off.

We have a lot of ornaments, most of which are off sentimental value. It
is part of our Christmas to put the tree up and to adorn it..... and to
take it down and to pack up off those memories.
