Usually refers to tangled unwashed hair. Dreadlocks are often
described that way as they often go unwashed for a long time.
Whoopee Goldberg is a good example. She's had nothing but dreads
for over 30 years. Wonder if she's ever taken them out to wash
well then redid them. Probably not often.
