He's filthy rich. No need to work anymore.

He's just having a hard time getting any females to rent rooms in his
creepy boarding house, even though it is massively renovated and even
has new stained glass windows, just like a church.

He's even offered free use of new electric cars, and all sorts of
luxurious amenities, but still, no women are interested.

I think it is all those damn peep holes he drilled in the "new" bathroom
walls
