When speaking of meat preservation, besides smoking, there are other factors to
consider. Typically smoked meat products *require* refrigeration, ie, bacon,
kielbasa, frankfurters, most hams and other pork cuts, etc. Smoking alone does
little to extend the shelf life of meats, far more important is curing and
dehydrating.

To ask if smoked meats can be frozen is a perfect example of a "dumb question".

Will freezing meat, any meat, affect it's texture... YES, most CERTAINLY,
generally negatively.
