Regardless, in my experience an extra day is best... many a time the
bag of giblets is still frozen in the cavity and irretrievable without
more thawing. Thing is nothing bad happens to a turkey thawing a bit
longer in the fridge... also not everyone's fridge/freezer is set at
the same temperature... a busy fridge will thaw quicker, a fridge
hardly ever opened can need another day.
Anyway my reminder was for those who forget to thaw altogether, and
that occurs quite often, people get all caught up in preparing for
company with baking and such and totally forget the frozen turkey.
