Long ago we had a 36" Tappen gas stove with a built in griddle, we
rarely used it once we discovered what a mess to clean the stove top
of all the spatter. For two people a large fry pan suffices, If you
intend to use that griddle I suggest you have a sheet metal shop make
up a SS 'fence' about 4-5 inches high.

We have a GE gas stove and a GE fridge both the Profile model, both
excellent, both over 25 years old. The fridge has never had a
problem, the stove needed a new computer modual about five years ago,
was pricey, cost $500. I doubt I will buy a fully loaded appliance
again, they are expensive to repair and those electronic thingies can
go kaput from a power outage or a nearby lightening storm. Yesterday
my wife brought her vehicle into Toyota to have two computer moduals
replaced, took 20 minutes, cost $800. My 1990 Toyota Landcruiser has
no computer moduals, and has never been back to Toyota. Only problem
that started lately is that the speedometer cable makes some noise in
cold weather, no repair place nearby has the lubricating tool anymore,
for a long while now speedometers have no cable, they are all
electronic.

Few products are manufactured in the US because very few young people
have gone into the skilled trades and there are virtually no
apprenticeship programs simply because the old timers have retired or
expired... Trump can talk about starting apprenticeship programs but
all he can do is talk... because where will he find instructors,
they're in China and the Middle East.
