The rice cookers are calibrated for use with the included measuring cup so
it's a lot easier. Also 2:1 is *not* correct for all kinds of rice - for
example jasmine is perfect with a 1.5:1 ratio in my cooker. I have owned 2
rice cookers, although not the brand/model mentioned, and in both of them
the measuring cup was about 7/8 of a standard cup.
