Of course. Freshly baked things are delicious. They usually taste best
while still warm. From that point on it's all downhill, so you might as
well eat it while it is at its peak of fresh goodness. It is also
usually cheaper to make things yourself. Those who are concerned about
the cost can rationalize eating more because they can have twice as much
for the same price as buying the ready made stuff.
I had to lay off the baking because of diet concerns. I am guilty of
more frequent servings of a pie and want to use them up while they are
still good. I found myself too many times polishing off a fresh seasonal
fruit pie and then making another while the fruit is still available.
That often meant eating almost a whole pie in 2-3 days and two or more
in a week. My wife has more will power than I have.
