It happened to my son in the coast guard a year or so ago. The
federal government changed their computer system and many pay cheques
went awry or did not show up. He went a couple of months without pay
and his bank manager was pretty understanding, as far as he could be,
but there are limits. By month three there was little understanding.
We all helped bail him out and then fortunately he started receiving
most of his pay cheque again and it was resolved.

So yes, the people owed the money by the gov. workers know,
understand, but there is a limit. I am truly sorry for those
workers, having seen what my son went through, it will be the same for
them, even if, in the end it is resolved.

That anyone could do this so randomly is hateful and I fail to
understand his callousness.
