Those clubs are certainly compelling. I once bought a Sam's Club membership because I could buy a couple of tires and save enough to pay for the $45 membership. As an added bonus, I could get the tires installed in half an hour. Saving time and money is a very good thing. These days the wait would be over 2 hours and I won't save much. It's easier to just get tires from the shop down the street.

We went to Costco yesterday to get some toilet paper. I was surprised that all the crap we got was $246 dollars. The bill also included $60 to renew our membership. Sometimes, the best way to save money at Costco is to not go to Costco.
