Varilux lenses work well for close, distance, and everything in
between. I hated bi/tri focals. And cheapo readers from the drug
store will ruin your eyes, those lenses are not even optical glass.
I wear Varilux 24/7, I sleep with them. My wife wears Varilux
contacts but I can't bear futzing with my eyes... she spends shours in
the bathroom with drops and playing in and out with those contacts.
I'm not so vain that I can't wear glasses... and I spend a lot of
dollars on high quality frames, mainly for comfort. Also wearing
contacts eventually leads to eye diseases.
