The list I was looking at was absolutely astounding. But never fear:
the provenance is good, the cellaring conditions are good, and it is
all on the up-and-up. The trick is that the wines are in Europe, and
the prices were quoted to include getting them over here and
compensating for the weak dollar.
And I promise not to wire money to anyone. Except my mother. If she
ever asked.

I looked into it further after you mentioned it. Since Winesearcher
doesn't show the retail prices in the "open" section for wines from
retailers not sponsoring the site, it seems clear that one must
subscribe to the pro version.
Which other online wine search tools do you find useful?
