Does using wax paper leave a residue on your food after nuking?

Can't imagine it is cancerous. It was introduced as a food packaging,
wasn't it?

You could try parchment paper if you just need a loose cover.

I remember, as a kid, ironing the Autumn leaves inbetween sheets of wax
paper. :-)
