There are different varieties of yellow squash and Bruce doesn't live in
the US. They are summer vegetables. A crookneck has a curved (crooked)
neck. There are straight neck yellow squashes (I can't discern a
difference in taste). There's also bumpy, slightly more bulbous yellow
squash.

They all work great in a stir fry, if you're so inclined. Also good
sliced lengthwise and grilled. Many things you can do with yellow
squash. It's all good.
