I am going to step out on the ledge and suggest that it is vegetable,
not meat.
I have had some excellent vegetarian food. When our son lived in
Montreal we used to go to a nearby Indian vegetarian restaurant. They
had lentils and other legumes that we high in protein and nicely spiced.
I liked it. My problem is with the faux meat products where they mash
up a bunch of vegetable products and add a lot of salt and other
seasonings to make burgers and wieners that they claim taste like meat.
Meat tastes like meat. Vegetables can be good, but they are not meat. If
you want meat taste, eat meat.
