you must live in a very sheltered place.

there are water issues in many areas of this planet.

humans seem to like to exploit things to the point
of destruction before they finally start being forced
to live within the carrying capacity of the areas
they inhabit. in ancient times they just moved on
after destroying a place. now there are fewer and
fewer places to move on to...
