Thing is, my mother never used cornmeal for anything. This is a recipe
she cut out of a magazine around 1960. My first introduction to
cornbread by Mom was a Betty Crocker mix that came with a little foil
pan circa 1968. It was sweet, like a cake. I had to discover cornmeal
and cornbread on my own.

Maybe next time I'll try cornmeal. The crushed corn chips are nostalgic
and quite tasty.
