I almost always double and triple the amount. We like LOs, often
tastes better the next day, especially stews/soups. Also a lot less
labor cooking once and eating three times, and most LOs are
freezeable. And buying in the family packs offers great savings...
yesterday meats in family packs were BOGO, got two packs of very nice
center cut pork loin chops, Eight to a pack so got 16 lovely pork
chops. I froze them four to a zip-loc and a couple two to a
zip-loc... we're typically satisfied with one each. We eat them by
cutting the meat from the bones with a steak knife... the bones go
back into the freezer and when there's a bagful I braise them in a pot
of crushed tomatoes for a rich ****gett sauce. Sometimes shoulder
chops are on sale, I brown them all and braise them in a pot of
crushed tomatoes until falling of the bone and skim the fat, excellent
****gett sauce, better than any Italian nana's. I've tried some
jarred sauce, all disgusting.
