What is 'almost' 1/2" plywood, do you mean some specialty thickness
like 7/16"?
Plywood makes for lousy shelving, especially if it's interior plywood
with a rough knotty exterior ply. The different plys are of different
woods so absorb moisture at different rates making it warp and
twist... much better to use 5/8" clear pine shelving lumber... looks
richer too... plywood shelving is for poor hippie's book shelves that
they lay across c-ment blocks.
Save that half sheet of plywood for something else, good for crawling
under your vehicle... may be good for parking your riding mower on to
deter dry rotted tires.
