J. A. Henkels knives are no longer of the same high quality that they
once were. For several years now they are no longer fully forged,
instead they are now of three separate stamped parts that are welded
together (they gave the process a fancy schmancy sounding name:
"Sintered"). They are far cheaper to manufacture, with the result
being low quality Toys R Us cutlery. The original hand wrought
process required a lot more skill and time, producing a stronger well
balanced knife.
