Why? If he wore out tires and damaged a wheel, he'd still have to
replace them.

I've had company cars that were leased and it made some sense for
expenses and deductions but that is different. I did lease a car in
1991 as it happened to fit my needs at the time and bought it at lease
end.

My car is 3 1/2 years old and paid for. Had I leased it I'd be making
payments on a new one but I could trade tomorrow and have a lower
payment than the lease offers right now.
