I love to use the dishwasher when I am making jam. I make sure
everything is sanitized whish is so important for putting things by.
Were I to use boiling water instead, I'd have to use at least 2 gals
of water plus energy to heat it. This way, I just include the jars and
rings while the rest of the dishes are running.
We only run the dishwasher when it is full, so not necessarily every
day. If I washed by hand, I'd be busy at least 3 times a day with it
or have a sink that was layered or overflowing with dirty dishes. And
don't even talk to me about pots and pans adding to the sink clutter.
My dishwasher is higher end and very efficient. I am thrilled with it.
