Don't forget to make mock apple pie. I've made it and found it was absolutely horrible! It's the most famous and most depressing of the depression era recipes. It actually makes you want to kill yourself. Everybody makes it with Ritz crackers but soda crackers might be slightly less sad and definitely less salty. How dumb do you have to be to mistake this for an apple pie? Really, really, dumb.
