Perhaps he was training to be an astronaut. They pee every two hours
since in zero gravity they don't get the feeling normally and can fill
the bladder causing other problems. The urethra can get blocked.

Once you get older you pee more often anyway. On a long road trip my
doctor says to stop every 1 1/2 hours to prevent DVTs. Yeah, no problem.
