The leaves in central Colorado were gorgeous this year,
a combination of a rainy summer and late frost and no
strong winds. The ash trees, cottonwoods, and honey locusts
turned a gorgeous gold, and and many of the usually brown oaks
were a beautiful wine color. Maples were fiery red or gold.
Most of these often lost their leaves in storms before they
turned color in previous years.
The past few cold nights and usual winds ushering in the frequent
weather fronts this week have stripped many of the trees, but it
has been one of the prettiest autumns in our 20 years here.

Thankful for a late fall this year and
snowstorms that have stayed in the mts.
