You can buy wild hickory meats from American Spoon foods. I've gotten
mine there for years and they are very good, but not cheap.

I'm completely willing to pay though. Grew up with hickory trees and as
a kid tried to get enough meats to make a cake. I think it was like 1/2
cup. Took days. The nuts are sooo hard to crack with just a hammer.
