I will always ask if there is something I can bring when I'm invited, but I
don't ask twice if the answer in no. I rarely if ever will show up empty
handed. I'll usually bring a bottle of wine. It doesn't matter to me one way
or another whether that wine is served at the get together. I figure that
once I give the wine to the hosts it is theirs to do with as they please.
