This is my tentative Thanksgiving menu:
Orange Glazed Turkey with Cornbread Stuffing and Pan Gravy
Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes with Carmelized Onions
Acorn Squash Stuffed with Wild Rice and Cranberries
Spinach Maria
Cranberry Orange Relish & Orange Blackberry Relish
Homemade Yeast Rolls
Chocolate Elephant & Cherry Yum Yum
I'm pretty firmly set on the turkey, dressing, and potatoes, although
I may end up replacing either the stuffed squash with the "family"
sweet potato casserole or the spinach with the "family" broccoli
casserole and I haven't completely decided on the desserts yet. My
DH's family always has the Cherry Yum Yum and that's what he's
expecting/wants. I'm not so sure it goes with the rest of the meal
(ok, ok, I know it doesn't) but I think I'm going to make it for him
anyway, then make something else as well that seems more suitable to
me. Right now, I'm debating Chocolate Elephant, as well as various
trifles, tiramisus, and cheesecakes, and leaning slightly toward the
Elephant...
