Central Market here had pork shoulder roast for the ridiculously low
price of $1.29 a pound. Some of them were pre-coated with Italian
spices. I bought one of the latter and made the Italian pot roast from
the vintage '98 Joy of Cooking (alias Irma, Marion, Ethan, and a cast of
thousands). It wasn't bad, but SO found that drizzling a little bit of
balsamic vinegar over each serving spiked it up. He was right.
