I thought I would brine and roast a turkey breast for the two of us with mashed
potatoes, gravy and a few sides. Now we've been asked over to some friends'
house for dinner, so all I have to do is buy the hostess a bottle of Grand
Marnier and a bottle of champagne. This is the launching of their
newly-remodeled kitchen, which I haven't seen yet. They will have a large
crowd of their old friends that we don't really know too well, so may not stay
for hours. We won't get any leftovers so I will probably brine the turkey the
next week and rotisserie it on the grill. I think I will try to put a
disposable pan under it to catch the drippings for gravy. Since I won't have
stuffing leftovers, I might just make some Stovetop. Don't laugh. I've read
so many stories of cooks passing Stovetop off for the homemade thing and
getting rave reviews.
