Simple, often throughout the year, but a very nice join with the usual
"heavy" of Thanksgiving meals:
Steamed Broccoli
Steam trimmed pieces, including peeled and thick-sliced stems over water
doused with baking soda. The soda encourages the brighter green color
to remain, and also helps somewhat to keep the "toots" from coming
about. When just crisp-tender, turn out into prep bowl for fresh ground
peppering more than usual, plenty of butter, and the fresh juice of at
least one entire lemon. Toss about, then into the serving bowl.
